Previously released on Constellation Tatsu and No Problema Tapes, a prolific producer from Japan and under perhaps the most adorable musical alias on the entire internet, 夕方の犬(U ･ｪ･) (Dog In The Evening) presents his latest EP work on Absurd TRAX. A slight detour from his more renowned ambient and minimal works, this EP takes on the path of more melodic and beat tape sound and structure yet retains an ethereal and nostalgic touch that reveals a more joyful side of the music project contrary to his previous output. His usual low-fi texture, sound collage approaches from his productions stewed with crackles and detuned vocal samples in this EP also adds to the melancholic feel that might reminds you of The Caretaker but in warming timbre. In the words of the artist, this EP is 'a work created with friends connected through the Internet' and sounded like so, it is a very therapeutic and moody listen as the album cover suggests, perfectly ideal for shared listening with friends during an end-of-summer night. The CD is designed by Chole Wong, who has previously collaborated on other Absurd TRAX project.
